Upcoming Performances!

Hello all!

Sorry for the lack of updates since the start of Year 2009. We've been busy with school, work, practices, etc. Now its time for some fresh & new updates!

On 17 January ( Saturday )

37 MCO members went to Republic Polytechnic (RP) for a 'Youth Policy Forum' event organized by PAYC after MCO practice. The host advisor of the event is Mr Hawazi Daipi. We registered at the counter & each of us were given a goodie bag & a sticker to paste on our shirt. There're different colors on the sticker. Each color represents one group. They PAYC did a skit and discussed about the working society now and how Union can help by joining the Union. We were seperated into groups to discuss on some of the topics related to what they present earlier. After discussing & writing on the big plain white papers. We pasted the posters on the walls for exhibition. Every group were to walk around to see what the other groups discussed. Each person were give 5 red stickers and 5 green stickers. Red represents Disagree and Green represents Agree.

After the exhibition we had teabreak at the reception area which is outside the lecture hall. After teabreak we went back into the lecture hall & Mr Hawazi had arrived. He presented some slides discussing on the emplyment rate. After his presentation they had a Q&A session by Mr Hawazi & Mr Richard Heng. We gained some knowledge because some of us are still students and didn't know what is it like in the working society. After everything we had dinner buffet over there! The food was yummy. :D That sums up the whole event at RP that day.

MCO will be performing @ CHINATOWN during Chinese New Year Eve!
You probably can catch us LIVE on NATONAL TV!

{ ABOUT THE EVENT }
The Chinatown Chinese New Year Eve Countdown event is one of the major highlights of the 1.5 month-long Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations organised by Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng Citizens’ Consultative Committee (supported by MediaCorp Studios). Together with a star-studded cast made up of MediaCorp artistes as well as contributions from various performing talents, the event will feature a two-hour live stage performance comprising song, dance, martial arts, interactive games to usher in the brand new Year of Ox!The theme for this year's campaign is "Hope & Happiness", which aims to instil optimism in the New Year amidst concerns over a looming economic climate. It hopes to boost business for the retailers and businesses in Chinatown during the festive season and to spread festive cheer to the needy and underprivileged in the community.
